Here are a few images from the film, Frozen River.


This is the frozen St. Lawrence River, over which Ray and Lila smuggle illegal Chinese and Pakistani immigrants.


These are two Chinese immigrants just prior to being forced into the trunk of Ray's car for the trip across the border. The man with the gun is a French-Canadian human trafficker. This is an example of the brutal treatment illegal immigrants must endure in order to make it to America.


This is Ray and a border patrol officer, who has become suspicious of her. The danger of engaging in human smuggling is made very apparent in this film.

Midterm Project

The three following links will play videos that correspond with the midterm paper. Each clip is from a different version of The Office. The first is British, the second French, and the third American.

The Office (UK)
In this clip, we see the manager, David Brent, hijack a motivation seminar and basically turn it into a campfire setting where he plays songs on his guitar for everyone.

Le Bureau (France)
This clip is essentially the same as the British version, except we now see the manager, Gilles Triquet, play French pop on his keytar.

The Office (U.S.)
In this clip, the manager, Michael Scott, takes over a diversity seminar and ignorantly yet inadvertently ends up doing more damage than good.
